Another 'what if' idea

erebusbeckThis one came while I was looking up something completely unrelated to Forever Knight.
Sooo, what if Divia came back but she was not looking for immediate revenge? What if she played the remorseful daughter for a while? How would she fit into Lacroix's life? Into Nick's? Into the community? What would she do after studying the situation for a bit? Would her actions push Nick and Lacroix closer together or farther apart? She's had nearly 2000 years to learn patience and to curb her impulsive nature. She's had all that time to think of a fitting punishment but had no way of knowing the current status of things in the world. Hmm.
I've made some progress on the last story in the series but it's not coming easy. I don't know why. Most of the stories seemed to write themselves with very little effort (except Changes). Maybe I'm bored with it? Maybe I don't want it to end? Maybe I resent Janette for reappearing? But I couldn't end the series without her popping up. I needed the closure and so does Nick, I think. (insert eye roll here)
I'll keep plugging away.
